Taos Guide for Visitors and Locals |

|
Taos New Mexico may be one of the most increadable places in the world to live or visit. Nothing like being surrounded by magnificent mountains and views that seem to go on forever to put it all in to perspective. You almost feel like you are traveling back in time to when the Pueblos hiked the same trails you are. The fresh clean air at 6952' is enough to clear anyones head.
Feeling like shopping? Well we have a great downtown area (probably not like the downtown you are used to) for shops, ski equipment and tuning, art by local taos natives, jewlery stores (again probably not like
the jewlery stores you are used to) with Native American and local artists' touch.
We would like to join us in our cozy mountain town for the expirence of your life. Ski our slopes, hike our trails, camp at our campgrounds, enjoy our national parks and enjoy our town as we do. We could try to describe Taos all day long and show you hundreds of pictures but that would not give you the same feeling you get when surounded by such beauty! |

All you snowboarders grab your boards and get ready for some fresh powder because the Taos Ski Valley now lets you shred the slopes with your board! In 2008 they lifted the board ban and you are welcome anytime on the mountain.

Travel tips for Taos, New Mexico |
One of the only thing you need to consider when traveling to Taos, New Mexico is the altitude. It needs not be that big of a concern but you should be aware that when you get to the Taos Ski areas you are much higher than most places you have been. Most people are not even noticably affected by the altitude. The first Couple of days you may feel a little tired or get a headache. You do want to take it easy on the booze the first few days in Taos and drink plenty of water. Also remember not to push yourself the first few days of your vacation... If you feel tired just relax for a bit ond you will be fine.
